List of airplanes without flaps
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some aircraft were designed without flaps for the sake of wing design simplicity or for aerodynamic reasons (the flaps on a delta wing would create a too strong nose-down momentum). Some of these aircraft are:
- Concorde - As a result of the lack in flaps the designers equipped the Concorde with a dropping nose that drops during take-offs and landings. Because of this the Concorde is characterized by the high Angle of Attack and high speed landings.
- Mirage family (except for the Mirage F1)
- Saab fighters (Saab 35 Draken, Saab JA37 Viggen, JAS 39 Gripen)
