The following is a list of all TDs returned to Dáil Éireann for the Cavan-Monaghan constituency since the constituency first came into use in 1977. There has never been a by-election in Cavan-Monaghan.
[edit] 21st Dáil (1977-1981)
[edit] 22nd Dáil (1981-1982)
[edit] 23rd Dáil (Feb-Nov. 1982)
[edit] 24th Dáil (1982-1987)
[edit] 25th Dáil (1987-1989)
[edit] 26th Dáil (1989-1992)
[edit] 27th Dáil (1992-1997)
[edit] 28th Dáil (1997-2002)
After the 2002 election Rory O'Hanlon became Ceann Comhairle and thus ceased to be a member of Fianna Fáil. If he still holds this position at the dissolution of the 29th Dáil, he will be eligible (if he chooses) to be automatically returned to the 30th Dáil without contesting the general election. In such a situation, Cavan-Monaghan would be effectively a 4-seater constituency with a quota of 20% (plus 1 vote) of the valid poll.
