  • Prof. (Dr.) Bashir Ahmed Subla, Noted Zoologist, known for his publications in limnology of Jammu and Kashmir. One of the pioneer Muslim scientists from the valley. Served in various capacities, as Director for Center of Research and Development (CORD), Principal of Sri Pratap College (S. P. College), and as Controller of Examinations, University of Kashmir.

Studied Ecology of Leopard and Himalayan Black Bear in and around Dachigam National Park, Jammu and Kashmir with special reference to human wildlife conflict. His interests are Ecological Studies on faunal diversity, especially carnivore ecology and Prey-Predator relationships. To work for conservation of endangered Fauna and their habitats, passionate to work in high altitudes and fragile ecosystem. Presently working (voluntarily) as Post Warden in J&K Civil Defence, Govt. of J&K.
