List of IIT alumni

The Indian Institutes of Technology are a body of premier institutions dedicated to providing technical education in engineering and the sciences. They are also engaged in front line research. There are seven IITs as of 2008.

The first IIT was established in Kharagpur in 1951. The first batch graduated in 1955. The alumni of these institutes now occupy leading positions in industry, academia and research institutions all over the world. This list contains some of the notable names.
