Meanwhile, Danglars decides to break off Eugénie's engagement to Albert. | ||||

Mercedes visits Fernand and Edmond's graves in Marseilles. Albert returns to Paris, where Eugénie once again lives, to visit his abandoned family home and Franz's grave. | ||||
