This is a complete list of Dallas Cowboys head coaches. There have been seven head coaches for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). The Cowboys franchise was originally founded in 1960 as an expansion team.[2] The team has earned the most postseason appearances (28, which includes another league record of 54 postseason games, winning 32 of them), the most appearances in the NFC Championship Game (14), and the most Super Bowl appearances (8), two more than any other NFL team.

Three different coaches have won Super Bowls with the team: Tom Landry in Super Bowl VI and XII, Jimmy Johnson in Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII, and Barry Switzer in Super Bowl XXX.[3] Landry is the all-time leader in games coached and wins, and Wade Phillips leads all coaches in winning percentage with .813 (with at least one full season coached).[4] Dave Campo is statistically the worst coach the Cowboys have had in terms of winning percentage, with .313.[5]

Of the seven Cowboys coaches, only Tom Landry has been elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.[6] The current coach is Wade Phillips, who was hired on February 8, 2007.[7]

Statistics correct as of January 13, 2008, after the end of the 2007 NFL season.
