The 1988 U.S. Presidential election saw Vice President George H.W. Bush defeat Democrat Michael Dukakis. The following is a list of the swing states for that election, those states with the lowest margins of victory (less than 5%), sorted by the margin percentages and color-coded for Bush or Dukakis:
