This photograph was taken by me on October 23rd, 2006, of the memorial plaque honouring en:Fred Astaire on the wall of Madden's Summerhill Cafe (formerly Madden's pub) on Main Street, en:Lismore, County Waterford, en:Ireland. It was erected by the people of Lismore in 2000 and unveiled by Astaire's daughter, Ava Astaire McKenzie, in recognition of Astaire's longstanding relationship with the village (he visited[1] his sister en:Adele Astaire in en:Lismore Castle from the mid-1930s until the 1970s). Astaire continued to visit Ireland regularly until shortly before his death, visiting his daughter Ava who has lived in Ireland since 1975.
