Talk:Linearity (writing)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There was an odd comment about it being uncertain whether Chinese is linear or not. It's as linear as the Latin alphabet, so if we want to go there, we need to classify which styles of calligraphy are linear, not which scripts. kwami (talk) 07:53, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wrong meaning?
This is not what I expected at all. I thought linear writing meant that letters proceed in a line, unlike many abugidas or Hangul where signs for sequential sounds are spatially arranged in a more complex way. I've tagged the article asking for sources. --JWB (talk) 03:23, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
