LinuxConsole is a Linux distribution based in France. LinuxConsole is an independently developed Linux live CD with different editions designed for desktops, servers, gaming consoles, and old computers. Its primary characteristics are easy installation, extensive choice of software in the form of modules, and excellent hardware detection.

LinuxConsole is primarily based on IceWM. GNOME, Freevo and MythTV are also included.

Its name derives not from command line interface, but from a video game console. Like a game console, it the project focuses heavily on games and multimedia, and also on usability.
