An early to mid-1840s daguerreotype of an unidentified sitter, claimed by some to be Abraham Lincoln. Most Lincoln experts disagree, but it is a compelling image nonetheless. The history of this image and evidence supporting its authenticity can be found at http://www.lincolnportrait.com.
