Lilith is a Colombian rock band from Medellín, Antioquia. All the members of the band are women.
In Hebrew mythology, Lilith is the name of the first woman, before Eve. The band takes this name to show they are determined to make "hard" music, without considering others' opinions.
[edit] Band members
- Marcela Carmona: Keyboard and vocals
- Tatiana González: Lead Guitar
- Pamela Ospina: Drums and vocals
- Sara Delgado: Vocals
- Gloria Mesa: bass
- Laura Plata: Guitar and vocals
Lilith was formed when Tatiana González and Sara Delgado decided to form a band composed only of women. Like many bands, they began by playing songs from their favorite artists, most of them alternative rock artists like Alanis Morissette or The Cranberries, later they started composing their own music. Most of their first songs were composed in English but then they expanded and became a completely bilingual ensemble.
The band has played in many venues in Bogotá, Medellín and all over Antioquia; at events like the Bogotá Fashion and the inauguration of the Parque de las Luces ("Park of the Lights") in Medellín and in music festivals like Hard Rock Taller's Onstage (in which the public elected them as the best rock band), Ancón 2005, Altavoz 2005, Rock Naciente 2 and the Festival 8000 Hertz.
Their first demo album was entitled: "Lilith: Playground".
In 2005 they release their first videoclip, of the song "Catfight". The same year they begin to compose and prepare a new album, this time more songs will be in Spanish their native language.
