[edit] IRC bot

Is it possible to put the IRC bot on a new channel to be used by portuguese wikipedians (to fight vandalism on portuguese wikipedia)? How it can be done ? thanks. -- lijealso 22:25, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

It can be done with a few keyboard commands on my part, however I will need help in translation of the bot. Ill make the necesary adjustments. --Cool CatTalk|@ 23:42, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
What needs to be translated? I'll try to do it (or ask some help from portuguese wikipedians). thanks. -- lijealso 23:54, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
The bot is active at #wikipedia-pt-vandalism I am working on uploading the pages to wikipedia. --Cool CatTalk|@ 00:10, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-admin.txt
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-whitelist.txt
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-blacklisted.txt
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-IP.txt
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-reguaruser.txt
  • User:Cool Cat/IRC Bot/Pt/lang-results.txt (highly optional lots of tedious work)
I'll need the translation of all but the last one of the files listed above, last one has some code in it so is hard to translate others shouldnt be too hard. If translation does not happen the bot will work just fine but will post in english rather than portugeese. --Cool CatTalk|@ 00:17, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Ok. im testing it on #wikipedia-pt-vandalism. I also made an announcement for other users in pt.wiki about this.
I'll try to translate the files. When finished, i'll post here. Thanks again. -- lijealso 00:55, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Oh please edit the pages. You do not need to post the translations here, just edit the actual pages :), it would be nice for you to mention when done, although Ill know about it even if you dont mention ;) --Cool CatTalk|@ 01:04, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Kudos/Fighting Spam

It is good of you to wait out that apparently ticked off spammer on the Wikipedia article. It looks like he/she could go on like that for a while... -- Dx 08:30, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Another alternative

In case you have a unix shell available, there's also a python bot to monitor vandalism that can be left unattended (and it's also portable to any OS where python is ported) -- ( drini's page ) 16:43, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] IRC bot

Hi. I've ask you, some time ago, to put a irc bot on wikipedia-pt-vandalism. Is it working properly ? I cannot send commands to the bot (actually i dont remenber what commands it accepts. lijealso 00:01, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Hmm. I'll add you to the bots database so you have access. Saying Computer Help in channel will give you the list of the commands you can use. --Cat out 13:05, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Ok. My IRC nick is the same as my username: "lijealso". Thanks. lijealso 20:57, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
You now have full access :) --Cat out 05:41, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your monobook is in Category:Wikipedia tools

Your monobook is in Category:Wikipedia tools. This is most likely because when you were copying scripts into yout monobook you accidentaly copied their category. Since your monobook is not a tool itself, please remove this category from it. If you intend for your monobook to be a tool, please consider creating a subpage with a more descriptive name, and moving the category there. Thank you, -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  22:36, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
