Light The Night Walk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening Walk to build awareness of blood cancers and raise funds for cures. Walkers carry illuminated balloons-white for survivors, red for supporters and gold for those walking in memory-to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer.

Funds raised by participants support the Society's mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. Children, adults and seniors all take part in the annual Walk.

The walk is also hosted in 8 Canadian cities; Montreal PQ., Toronto ON., Edmonton AB., Calgary AB., Surrey BC., Vancouver BC. & Victoria BC. In 2008, Light The Night Canada is projected to raise $2 million dollars. The campaigns are coordinated by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
