[edit] Royal Marine Lieutenant-Generals

Though it's true that the Commandant General Royal Marines is "only" a major-general, you do get higher ranking RM officers — e.g. Lt Gen Sir Robert Fry RM, Deputy Commander of the Multinational Force in Iraq [1]. Franey 08:58, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lieutenant Generals & corps

At 1 October 2007, the Army had an estimated 16 Lt-Gens (http://www.dasa.mod.uk/natstats/tsp9/tsp9tab2.html). There is currently only one corps-command position, that of Commander Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. So it's not true to say that a UK Lt-Gen "usually" commands a corps; I doubt this is even true historically (except maybe during WWI or WWII). Franey (talk) 13:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
