No, don't. There is so much to say about what is possibly the most evil retailer since Walmart. Anyone who has read one of the apparent black books on lidl should contribute.

declare this a a stub?!

[edit] Dispute over pronounciation

"Some people believe it is pronounced one way, not the other"

Some people like whom? I know this is true because I've heard people say "lid-el" colloquially, and I've also seem the adverts that say "leed-ell", but how do we verify this? Is this just part of British street knowledge that could never have a place in an encyclopedia? I'm an inclusionist and would favour this knowledge as being valuable, but it's almost impossible to verify as it stands.--HisSpaceResearch 16:54, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Quote: This dispute may have arisen due to the fact that a lot of Lidl's european buisiness activities are coordinated (especially customer support centres) from Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland.
Does all of this this really amount to a dispute? And what precisely does the Livingston location of Lidl's [sic:] "european buisiness" customer support centres have to do with the question? As I see it, most Lidl customers in the UK say "Liddle" and the company's TV adverts mostly say "Leedle" -- interesting, but a dispute? I'm not usually a "cite your sources" zealot, but methinks this is all a bit overblown -- Picapica 00:56, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree, this really shouldn't be a dispute. Not sure whether it helps but in Germany we tend to pronounce it like more leedle, quite similar to beadle. --C2uk 21:40, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
LOL. Beadle! No, but on a serious level, it's just to do with the fact that German and English language speakers would pronounce words differently based on the phonetics/rules/whatever of the different languages.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 18:38, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Profit Levels

I heard on the radio that one of the reasons that "LIDL is cheaper" is that they keep their profit levels to 2% whereas Tesco and Sainsbury's expect 7%. Is this true? 86.41.149.8 08:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

No idea. Which radio station? Try citing a reliable source...--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 18:39, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lidl in Cyprus

Cyprus is listed as a country with a branch; according to Cypriot forums, its still being built and isn't planned to be opened until 2009.

[edit] This entry contains biased information

I find it difficult to believe that one can objectively state that: "Their fresh produce, thus far, has become very popular with the working class and some upper class families, both for the taste of the produce and the texture of the skins which are pleasing not only to the mouth but to the touch of the fingers." —Preceding unsigned comment added by DynamicUno (talk • contribs) 04:44, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] One day I went to Lidl

I went to shoplift at Lidl, then I got caught in Lidl. Now I don't go back to Lidl. 66.142.47.189 (talk) 20:19, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
