Liarea hochstetteri alta is a subspecies of land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Liareidae.

This subspecies is endemic to New Zealand, found in Northland in the North Island.

The shell has a taller spire than in the typical Liarea hochstetteri.
Shell height is up to 12.9 mm, and width up to 5.9 mm.
