The 2nd Brigade of the Serbian Land Forces comprises infantry, armor, artillery, missile air defense units, and engineering and signal units

The 2nd LF Brigade is based in Kraljevo while the units are based in Novi Pazar, Raska, Valjevo and Kraljevo.

2nd LF Brigade was formed on 28 March 2007 by merging parts of 252. Armored, 20. Motorized, 305. Engineering, 37. Motorized Brigade and 401. artillery air defense brigade. It also comprises parts of 282. signal battalion, 24. battalion for special activities and 524. GS logistics base.

Current tasks of 2 LF Brigade:

  • building and maintaining the ordered level of combat readiness
  • complete readiness of the unit to complete tasks within SAF missions
  • deploying brigade establishments on tasks of securing the administrative border towards Kosovo and Metohija within the Ground Security Zone.
  • training commands and units for special tasks
  • preparing and deploying units to provide support to civil authorities in addressing consequences of natural disasters and catastrophes.
