[edit] Image history

This Lexus ad, titled "Pyramid," began airing on October 20, 2006, coinciding with the U.S. market launch of the new Lexus LS. The advertisement showed an LS 460 L gliding past 2 stacks of champagne glasses--reminiscent of the original 1989 LS 400 ad, "Balance." This time however, the driver touches a button on the LS 460 L touchscreen, initiating the Advanced Parking Guidance System. Taking his hands off the steering wheel, the driver allows the vehicle to steer itself into the parking space. The narration said, "The champagne glasses may seem familiar, but you've never seen a car virtually park itself...The New LS. Unprecedented."

This ad was one of 2 which were nominated for the Automotive Advertising Awards at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. The Lexus advertising agency, Team One, received an award for the LS 460 campaign.
