Lessons Learned is the upcoming fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Monica. It will be the third album released under Monica's contract with J Records (the singer renewed her joint venture with the label in October 2007).[2].

Although a release date has not yet been confirmed, the album is expected to be released around August 2008 on J Records,[2][1] with a yet-to-be-picked single preceding in June or July.[1] So far, the singer has worked with producers Missy Elliott, Bryan Michael Cox and Babyface on the album.[1] Her team also is in negoations with Ne-Yo, Polow Da Don, and R. Kelly to contribute to Lessons Learned.[1] In an interview with Versus Magazine, Lil Jon moreover recently stated that he was "about to do some work with Monica."[3]

Productionwise, the album is expected to orient on earlier projects: "I am going back to where I started," said Monica said in an interview with Concrete Loop.[4] "The next album I would like people to get more songs like "Why I Love You So Much," "Angel of Mine," or the things they really, really love from me ..."[5]
