Talk:Leo Jung

[edit] Affiliation with RIETS
I do not understand why this article states that one of Jung's first acts was to align the Jewish Center with RIETS and away from JTS. What is the source for this statement? The Jewish Center was not affiliated with RIETS or JTS. It was an orthodox synagogue which was a member of the Union of Orthodox Congregations (OU). Jung came to the Jewish Center in 1922. Kaplan left the Jewish Center (under intense pressure) in 1922 and formed the Society for the Advancement of Judaism (SAJ) to promote his ideas for reconstructing Judaism. Jung was hired shortly thereafter in 1922. Yeshiva College was founded in 1926. Jung became a professor at Yeshiva in 1931. See, Rabbi Leo Young and the Americanization of Orthodox Judaism by Marc L.
