Leoncio Afonso

Leoncio Afonso Perez was born in Breña Alta (Canary Islands) in 1916. His career has been dedicated to the study of the geography, history and toponomics of the Canary Islands. His many publications (among others: "Geography of Tenerife", "Basic Atlas of the Canary Islands") brought him the Honoris Causa title granted by the Universidad de La Laguna.
