Leofrun was the abbess of St Mildred's Abbey at Minster-in-Thanet, Kent, which was a Benedictine abbey for nuns.[1] In 1011 she was captured by the Danes, along with Alphege Archbishop of Canterbury and Godwine Bishop of Rochester after they successfully laid siege to the town of Canterbury.[2]
