Leo D'Angelo

Leo "The Mad Hatter" D'Angelo is a Bonanno crime family mobster and was a long-time employee of The New York Post.

D'Angelo was employed as the general foreman at The New York Post in the 1970's and 1980's. He served under reputed Bonanno crime family capo James Galante. He was nicknamed "The Mad Hatter" (after Gambino crime family mob boss Albert Anastasia because of his violent temper. In the 1960's he let fellow employees at the newspaper plant and mobsters that he had been convicted of murder in the 1960's. Leo D'Angelo was fired from his position at The New York Post after being convicted of extortion in 1990. After he was sentenced to prison, John Nobile, another mobster who served under James Galante at newspaper replaced him.
