US Navy (USN) Admiral (here photographed as a Vice Admiral) (VADM) Leon A. Edney was vice chief of the Navy and reportedly assisted in suppressing reports that the USS Iowa turret explosion wasn't caused by deliberate sabotage by an Iowa crewmember.
