Lennox is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 22,950 at the 2000 census.

Lennox is located at 33°56′23″N, 118°21′27″W (33.939813, -118.357482)[1]. The CDP has as its boundaries: Century Blvd. to the north (along with neighboring cities of Inglewood and Los Angeles), Interstate 405 (the San Diego Freeway, a.k.a. "the 405") to the west, and Interstate 105 (the Glenn Anderson Freeway) to the south. Hawthorne Boulevard and Prairie Avenue make up portions of its eastern boundary with Inglewood.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²), all land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 22,950 people, 5,049 households, and 4,382 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 8,204.7/km² (21,257.5/mi²). There were 5,235 housing units at an average density of 1,871.5/km² (4,848.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 4.15% African American, 1.02% Native American, 0.82% Asian, 1.39% Pacific Islander, 56.31% from other races, and 4.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 89.77% of the population.

There were 5,049 households out of which 63.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% were married couples living together, 17.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.2% were non-families. 9.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 4.55 and the average family size was 4.70.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 39.0% under the age of 18, 12.4% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 12.7% from 45 to 64, and 3.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 24 years. For every 100 females there were 106.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.5 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $28,273, and the median income for a family was $27,991. Males had a median income of $19,235 versus $16,564 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $8,499. About 31.5% of families and 31.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 38.7% of those under age 18 and 15.5% of those age 65 or over.

In the state legislature Lennox is located in the 28th Senate District, represented by Democrat Jenny Oropeza, and in the 51st Assembly District, represented by Democrat Curren D. Price Jr.. Federally, Lennox is located in California's 36th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of D +11[3] and is represented by Democrat Jane Harman.
