From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leicester Phoenix Rugby League Football Club is a rugby league team based in Leicester in the East Midlands.

[edit] History

The club was founded in 1986.

The Phoenix were one of the 16 founder members of the Rugby League Conference in 1995 reaching the grand final in the inaugural season. Since then they have been one of the league's most consistent performers.

This season, the Phoenix will compete again in the Midland Premier division of the Rugby League Conference.

For the 2008 season, The Phoenix have reached an agreement with Aylestone St. James RUFC to host them. The deal means the club will be training and playing all our home fixtures at the club's Covert Lane ground in the Scraptoft area of the city.
