Police chief of a major metropolitan department is notable. The article is written poorly, but that does not make the subject itself non-notable. Chris 06:15, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. Per WP:BIO, a person who has held local office is not considered notable unless he has received significant press coverage, which is not demonstrated in the article. But I suppose that could be demonstrated for a police chief, so I'll remove the speedy. I am going to leave the notability tag, please address this at your nearest convenience.
