Lee Valley Ice Centre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Lee Valley Ice Centre is situated in the Lee Valley Park in East London, England. Figure Skating, Ice Hockey and public skating sessions are all available at Lee Valley Ice Centre.
[edit] Ice Hockey
The Lee Valley Ice Centre is home to the Lee Valley Lions, an amateur side competing in the English National Ice Hockey League and the London Racers, who compete in the top level British Elite Ice Hockey League. Unfortunately the London Racers have withdrawn from the British Elite Ice Hockey League after the club decided that the rink was not safe enough for "elite" level ice hockey. The Lee Valley Lions and the Junior programme will continue.
[edit] Synchronised Skating
There are currently four synchronised skating teams training at Lee Valley Ice Centre, at adult (Ice Passion), novice (Phoenix), junior (Aura) and mixed age (Isis) level. The Junior team, Aura, participated in the ISU World Challenge Cup for Juniors 2007, hosted in Nottingham, England, and finished in 16th place. Shortly before this, they won the Junior British Championships, hosted in Wales. The Mixed Age team, Isis, won the Mixed Age British Championships in 2007, hosted in Sheffield, England.
