"Leave" is a song by R.E.M. which is featured on their 1996 album New Adventures in Hi-Fi. It was written primarily by the band's drummer Bill Berry. At 7 minutes and 18 seconds, it is the longest song ever released by the band. The song was never played live until the second European leg of the band's Around the Sun tour during the summer of 2005. A shortened version of the song was added to the regular set for most of the concerts played in May and June.[1]
A remixed, more synthesized version of the song appeared on the soundtrack to the film A Life Less Ordinary in 1997 and was included on the bonus disc of the limited two-disc edition of In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 in 2003.
