As far as I know, there is another candidate for the wreck. A man who lives along Lake Huron near the Bruce Peninsula brought up pieces of a wreck that he believed were the Griffon. I am certain it was never confirmed to be Griffon, as the article mentions it has not been positively identified, but I am not aware if that particular wreck has been ruled out.
