Le Tourment Vert Absinthe translated as "The Green Torment" is a traditional handcraftd French absinthe, imported from the French Distillerie Vinet EGE, near Cognac City, France. [1]
As found in all traditional absinthes, Le Tourment Vert contains the “Holy Trinity”: Anise, Fennel and Grand Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium). In addition, Le Tourment Vert contains a unique combination of herbs, including sage, rosemary, coriander, and eucalyptus.
Historically, most absinthes contained between 60 and 75 percent alcohol by volume (120 to 150 proof). Le Tourment Vert is 100 proof (50 percent alcohol by volume), which allows it to be served in a variety of ways, as a straight shot, diluted with sugar (The “Ritual”), or in mixed drinks.
Le Tourment Vert contains the maximum amount of thujone allowed by the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, 10ppm.
