Le Suquet Cannes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Le Suquet Cannes is probably best known by tourists as the climbing, winding cobbled lane lined with local restaurants all trying to entice you in with their local and international specialties. This is Rue St Antoine. If you climb to the top of this lane and then turn left and left again this takes you to the clock tower and church that sit highfacing east overlooking the Bay of Cannes and Cannes itself. Perhaps one of the best views in Cannes. At the bottom of Le Suquet on Rue Dr. P. Gayagnaire is the Marche Forville. Its the ideal place to know Old Cannes and its history. Early most mornings the market comes alive with the traders all preparing their fresh local produce for sale. By mid afternoon you would not know it had existed as everything is cleared - ready for the next morning.
