[edit] Overlap with article "Layered clothing"
This article overlaps severely with article "Layered clothing", which focuses solely on the "practical use" aspect. I suggest the "practical use" content is removed from this article, and a reference is added to "Layered clothing" article. Not much content would then remain in this article, but I don't know the subject matter (fashion) well enough to make suggestions about that.
