The article needs more about history and economics of the area. Is it in the Tidewater? Was it/is it agricultural? What about readers who don't know about the area?

Given the importance of post-Civil War education of blacks in the South, more should be given about St. Paul's College, the role of historically black colleges in education and the training of teachers.--Parkwells (talk) 19:50, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
