Lauren Ezersky is a United States broadcaster who is best known as hostess of her long running cable TV show "Behind The Velvet Ropes". She is considered a key figure in the New York fashion arena. Her fun and irreverent style of interviewing has made her an inside player in the fashion community.
Ezersky was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She began her career pursuing her garment center dreams, working as a sales woman, a buyer, and even as a personal shopper. A pioneer of fashion programming, Lauren Ezersky is considered a key figure in the New York fashion arena. Her fun and irreverent style of interviewing has made her an inside player in the fashion community. As host of “Behind the Velvet Ropes” for over 7 years, Ezersky takes viewers behind the scenes at the hottest fashion shows and events and interviews the top designers. Designers she has interviewed include Calvin Klein, Gianni Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Isaac Mizrahi and John Galliano.
In addition to hosting and producing her own show, Ezersky has been an on-air correspondent for “Fashion File,” as well as an on-air contributor to the WKTU morning radio show in New York City. For over a decade she authored the monthly column “Lunch with Lauren” for Paper Magazine spotlighting such designers as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Valentino, and Karl Lagerfeld.
Ezersky is a fixture on many popular shows including, “Oprah Winfrey,” “Ricki Lake,” “CNN News” and VH1’s “Fashion TV.” She is frequently profiled in major national fashion magazines. Lauren has also appeared on Good Morning America, Inside Edition, Fashion File, American Journal and Oprah Winfrey.
She has also been on Manhattan File's Best Dressed list.
