Talk:Latent human error
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Regarding reference no.1 to the article, this is pure semantics and disregards the actual usefullness and purpose of the term "latent human error" in practice. It also states, wrongly, that the term refers to errors that have yet to manifest themselves and that the intended meaning refers to errors that have already occurred. In practice the term refers to procedural errors that have become apparent due to human errors that already have occurred and that aircraft operators need awareness of in order to prevent these errors from repeating themselves in the future. The goal in aviation safety work is that this knowledge leads to changes in procedures and systems in order to prevent the same errors from reoccurring.
