Late Autumn (Japanese: Akibiyori) is a 1960 drama film directed by Yasujiro Ozu. It stars many of his favourite actors including Setsuko Hara.
It follows a common theme of his movies - a crucial time of change in a Japanese families life, set in a time of rapid societal change. The story follows the attempts of three older men to help the widow of a late friend to marry her daughter. The daughter is less than happy at the proposals, mainly because of her reluctance to leave her mother alone.
