[edit] Rewrite Needed!

This article badly needs to be rewritten.

[edit] Birthplace

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396164

CBS Sportsline lists Larry Johnson's birthplace as Pomfret. What I think has happened is originally his 'hometown' was listed as State College (he did go to high school there) and this was misconstrued as his birthplace (and picked by ESPN, etc...). It is not possible that he was born in State College because his father was not hired as an assistant at Penn State until 1996. Previously his father was head football coach at McDonough in Pomfret, MD: Pepperjack 05:35, 13 January 2006 (UTC)pepperjack

I believe the standard operating proceedure is to list the location of the hospital where he was born—in this case La Plata, Maryland—as opposed to the location of the Johnson residence at the time—which was Pomfret, Maryland. Either way, definitely NOT State College, PennsylvaniaXanderer 19:44, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

Little known fact: This guy's in the NFL now. You might want to report on that. Quadzilla99 09:42, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I literally had to add the one sentence NFL section because there was none (seriously):[1] Quadzilla99 09:44, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I re-added an old section with his some NFL career info, cleaned up the old section somewhat added some raw unformatted refs. Needs tons of work. Here's a good source for statistcial accomplishments:[2]Quadzilla99 09:54, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Requested move

Although I consider this an uncontroversial move, it appears the other page exists. Football player implies that the athlete is a soccer player to most people in the world. American football and football are not the same. Jmfangio| ►Chat  06:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Move section?

I think the pro stats section should be moved into the section on his pro career. Comments? Burner0718 (talk) 02:26, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Failed GA

I had to quick-fail this article, unfortunately. Here's what needs to be fixed:

  • Early life and college career sections are entirely unsourced.
  • Lead needs to be expanded per WP:LEAD.
  • References need to be cited properly (see Template:cite web and Template:cite news)- a couple are but the rest need to follow.
  • Personal life is is just a cluster of one-sentence paragraphs. Expand (if you can) and combine them.
Since i didn't put it on hold, you have plenty of time to make all necessary changes at your leisure. Wizardman 16:53, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
