Larry Pickens

Larry Pickens is general secretary of the General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns of the United Methodist Church where he has also served on the church’s highest court, the Judicial Council.
Pickens holds a master of theology degree and master of divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a doctorate in ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary, and a juris doctor from DePaul University College of Law.
Pickens and his wife, Debra, have a daughter.
Pickens is presently a candidate for the episcopacy, endorsed by the Northern Illinois Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. The North Central Jurisdictional Conference election take place between July 15-19, 2008 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Larry Pickens for the episcopacy web address is www.larrypickens.org
