[edit] Improvement

To do:

  • Find more info for Drugbox
  • Avoid repetition of name—lanreotide, lanreotide, lanreotide...
  • Find more refs and better refs
  • Add more on the use of radiolabeled lanreotide?
  • Add more on efficacy and comparison to octreotide.
  • Interesting refs:

[edit] Oral Lanreotide

Do you think that one day there will be an oral form of Lanreotide or octreotide? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Interestedperson (talkcontribs)

Well, there has been some development of orally active somatostatin analogues,[1][2][3] although not recently AFAIK. Very high oral doses of octreotide do produce some effect, comparable to a low parenteral dose (there's a reference for that somewhere). Perhaps somatostatin analogues with appropriate structural modifications will reach the market someday... Fvasconcellos (t·c) 19:19, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
