[edit] Not unique

I removed the following sentence from the first paragraph:

It was unique amongst the pre-grouping companies in that its main traffic flow was to and from east and west.

As stated, this is clearly false: what about the Great Western Railway! I can guess what was intended here, but it needs to be rephrased, and, importantly for any claims of uniqueness, needs to be backed up by an explicit reference.--Dr Greg (talk) 18:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
