The commune is linked with the D704 (Sarlat-Limoges. It is a small commercial town.

Lanouaille (la nouvelle - new) is a new commune created from a part of the areas of Savignac-Lédrier and Dussac. This development placed by a large Sarlat-Limoges route via Saint Yrieix and Montignax (D704) and a stature of the chief town of the town other than Payzac. The population between the mid-1960s to the early to mid-1980s reached the 1,000 mark, it fell below after and it now standed at 966 in the 1999 census.
