Lannion (Breton: Lannuon) is a commune of the Côtes-d'Armor département, in Brittany, France.

Lannion is a sous-préfecture of Côtes-d'Armor, the capital of Trégor and the center of an agglomeration of almost 60,000 inhabitants. Lannion is one of the most famous cities in Brittany because of its place and history.

Inhabitants of Lannion are called Lannionnais.

With the last census (1999), the municipal population of Lannion rises with 18,368 inhabitants (9007 men and 9361 women), the total population is of 19,351 inhabitants.

The old quarter of Lannion is always a delight to see, and it attracts many tourists in the summer season. There are numerous cafés and bars here, so you can refresh yourself as you follow the history trail. The church, which rejoices in the unusual name of Brélévenez, is a Templar church, and is of interest to all those who have become avid fans of the Da Vinci code and all the grail stories that have their roots in France. It is in this part of town that you will discover pretty squares, secret chapels with ancient frescoes, half-timbered houses and much more.

Lannion is a great telecommunications research center in France with several firms such as Alcatel-Lucent, France Telecom and SAGEM operating there.

Lannion is served by extesnive transport links. The nearby airport was recently expanded to accommodate larger flights arriving from Paris and other French destinations. The station provides TGV services to Brest, St Brieuc, Rennes and Paris as well as TER links to local stations.

There are several good places to pass the night in Lannion. With a choice of 6/7 good bars and a host of restaurants with local and international cuisine, a cinema, a bowling alley, there is always something to do. Regular concerts are held in the town square during the summer months known as 'Les Tardives'. Lannion is also home to the "Carré Magigue", a well known theatre company in the area.
