Landing Helicopter Assault

LHA, for Landing Helicopter Assault, is the US Navy hull classification symbol for the general purpose amphibious assault ships of the Tarawa and LHA-6 classes.

Tarawa class

• USS Tarawa (LHA-1)
• USS Saipan (LHA-2) (Decommissioned April 20, 2007)
• USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) (Decommissioned October 28, 2005)
• USS Nassau (LHA-4)
• USS Peleliu (LHA-5)

LHA-6 class

• LHA-6 - pre-construction, formerly known as LHA(R)
