The Land Rover LRX is a concept car from Land Rover, designed to address the CO2 issue, which was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008.

[edit] Details

Reuters report that the LRX will be the first Land Rover designed to address the CO2 issue, with the proposed power unit being a hybrid 2.0-litre turbodiesel/electric, which will be capable of running on bio-diesel, and with potential CO2 emissions of 120 g/km.[4]

CAR Magazine online state that the car runs on electric power alone up to 20 mph, and that a non-hybrid version is likely to start production in 2010. [2]

TotallyMotor comment that the new concept vehicle was designed by Gerry McGovern, who was also the designer of the Freelander.[1]
