An American phrase meant for catching friends or casual acquaintences off guard.

The game works as following: you ask someone a question, and if the person responds with a "Who?", "What?" or anything similar, you're free to hit your unsuspecting vitcim with an enthusiastic "DEEEEEZ NUUUUUTZ!!!". This joke works best when done loudly in quiet public places so that everyone can hear.

Deez Nuts first appeared in the Dr. Dre song "Deeez Nuuuts" on the album "The Chronic", which was released in 1992. Since that time it has evolved into a game or even just a catchphrase.

You may need to say these quickly or mumble them so people don't realize you're trying to catch them.

You: "Do you know Dee?" (or anything similar)

Victim: "Who?"

You: "DEEZ NUTZ!"

In order to avoid being caught, you always say "I didn't hear you" or something like that instead of "What?" or "Huh?" when you didn't understand what someone said.
