Where does the name come from? Trekphiler 10:51, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

"The Ancient water-body is known as Lake Lahontan - named in honor of Baron La Hontan, one of the early explorers of the headwaters of the Mississippi" See Russell, Israel Cook (1885). Geological History of Lake Lahontan: A Quaternary Lake of Northwestern. US Government Printing Office. Retrieved on 2008-05-26.  I believe this is Louis-Armand de Lom d'Arce de Lahontan, Baron de Lahontan. Cxbrx (talk) 06:31, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
