There is much content in the Clear Lake article which is more about the county than the lake, and probably needs to be moved here. I'll probably do this sometime, but if anyone wants to start on this, be my guest. See Talk: Clear Lake.

I lived in Lake County for 20 years, and never did I know someone to seriously refer to Lake County as "LC" or "The County". People had enough trouble understanding where Lake County was, so any colloquial saying would have only created more confusion.
