Lakhai is located at 24.2889° N 91.2167° E . It has 19465 units of house hold and total area 196.56 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Lakhai has a population of 110319. Males constitute are 49.24% of the population, and females 50.76%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 53164. Lakhai has an average literacy rate of 21.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
